Motoomi Doi is back after two and a half years absence.
As the label's first male singer songwriter, Motoomi Doi released "The Illuminated Nightingale" in the summer of 2013, with his delicate, gender neutral high tone voice, mixing reality with the surreal following his fable-like vision of magic realism, he has gathered many loyal fans.
But after the release he fell into a severe slump. Though he had hit the bottom, he strove to recover and after two and a half years of trial error, he has completed his newest work "Bonyari Baby EP".
From the expansive sense of impressionistic ambient, light rhythmic nostalgic electro-pop to spoken word and guitar verse, this EP has seven songs rich in variation. His unique glossy voice and beautiful melodies of course still remain. He has deepened himself as an artist as a result of experiencing his slump. Throughout the whole EP, a certain sadness and despair are present at its depth, but they're wrapped in a gentle kindness leading to the great deepness of this work.

With the entanglement and interaction of noise and musical tone, we seem to have traveled through the jungle infested by ghosts, and witnessed a new universe being reborn in this strange chaos and harmony. Through this recording, Jim O’Rourke reconstructed the order of sound in a sense. alain.proust
